Small plane crashes into Lake Scugog

SCUGOG: An investigation began after a small plane crashed into Lake Scugog in Port Perry, on Wednesday, September 15th. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. A Durham Regional Police (DRPS) spokesperson could only confirm that “two pilots survived the crash”, citing the fact Transport Canada is handling the investigation.

At the time, North Division Officers, as well as those from the DRPS Marine Unit, responded to the incident.

In a statement, Transportation Safety Board (TSB) spokesperson Dean Campbell said the “TSB has been informed of the occurrence” and is “gathering information” while determining what their next steps will be.
