Scugog Lake Stewards make COVID-19 related statement

DAN CEARNS The Standard

SCUGOG: The Scugog Lake Stewards have provided an update, as well as a message for the community regarding the COVID-19 situation. On Wednesday, April 1st, Lake Stewards President Rob Messervey put out a statement. “The pandemic has changed our world and [it] is affecting us all, as we work through our daily tasks and give support to whom we can and where we can,” he wrote. The statement included an update on Lake Steward initiatives. “The Stewards work continues, albeit many of our planned activities are on hold and will be rescheduled once we flatten the curve and life returns back to normal. For example, our Annual General Meeting, scheduled for April 28th, 2020, has been deferred until late June, or perhaps even later, dependent on the health situation. However, at the same time, work continues on finalization of the Lake Scugog Enhancement Project approvals and design, and we are continuing to monitor the lake and watershed conditions, and we will continue to report to you on matters of interest,” Mr. Messervey’s statement read. He concluded with some advice for people. “We ask everyone to continue following the advice of our Public Health Care professionals. Keep your distance, but please stay connected at the same time. We encourage you to monitor our social media pages for regular updates and postings relating to Lake Scugog and our watershed. Keep well everyone.”
