SCUGOG: For the first time in two years, Scugog councillors returned to council chambers for a meeting.
On Monday, March 28th, Scugog Council held their first hybrid council session (online and in-person) at the council chambers since the pandemic’s start.
“It’s our first meeting back. It’s great to see everyone in person. But we’re all a little unnerved right now because we are back after two years, so I ask everyone to be patient and understanding as we wade through all of this technical stuff,” Mayor Bobbie Drew said, at the start of the meeting.
The council continued to use their online voting platform for votes on motions and reports for the most part. The few times they did a verbal vote was when they were experiencing technical difficulties. The last time councillors attended a council meeting at the Scugog Municipal Office was on March 23rd, 2020.
