UXBRIDGE: Construction continues of Planks Lane this summer, with the upgrades coming to the area between Main and Marietta Street.
According to the township, work is slated to be ongoing throughout the summer months with sanitary and storm sewer upgrades, as well as a rebuilt curb and gutter.
Once complete, the western stretch of the roadway will match improvements to the streetscape which have happened over the past two summers in the area east of Marietta Street. These improvements include a new multi-use path (on the south side) and sidewalk (on the north side) facilitating active transportation to both Uxbridge Secondary School, and Joseph Gould Public School.
The portion of Planks Lane between Main and Marietta Streetis slated to be close to traffic during construction. The majority of the project is expected to be completed before September in order to not interfere with traffic from the two schools in the area.
