SCUGOG: The Township of Scugog expects the new Palmer Park playground construction to be complete before the end of this year.
At a meeting on Monday, December 5th, Scugog Director of Public Works and Infrastructure, provided an update on the project.
“The final stages of the new Palmer Park playground are underway, and we are looking forward to reopening the park. This will be within the next two or three weeks; we [are hoping],” she told councillors at the meeting.
Construction on the project began in September, and the park’s former play equipment was sold, at an auction for $6,100. The playground replacement is part of the Township’s Waterfront Action plan.
Director Coleman explained what the new playground would look like.
“The new playground will be inclusive, with many great features including a rubber play surface, a wheelchair accessible Rock’n Ship, a quiet grove, a junior climber, a senior tower climber, a spinning climber and a zipline.”
