KEN WILSON Port Perry Tennis Club
SCUGOG: It’s hard to believe that we are in the beginning of September. Where did the Summer go?
The Courts were busy in the month of August.
The Summer Club lesson programs finished August 25th with the Fall programs commencing the week of September 10th and running to October 9th.
The Port Perry Tennis Club (PPTC) leagues Tuesday, Thursday and Friday will continue to run until the end of the season
The PPTC held the Club Youth Championships on August 16th. The Junior Champion was Gunnar Giguuere with Declin Hooper as the Runner Up. The Teen Champion was Carter Schmidt with Yajas Thapliyal as the Runner Up.
Thank you to our Club Pro, Mr. Colin Hooper, for organizing this event for our junior members.
The PPTC ran two youth camps in August with one camp being a Tennis Club camp from August 11th to 15th and one facilitated on behalf of the Scugog Township Recreation Department from August 25th to 28th.
The month of September plans to be another busy month. On Saturday September 6th and Sunday, September 7th, the Club will be hosting the 2025 Adult Club Championships.
Saturday, September 13th will be a busy day with two events happening. The PPTC will be participating in the Port Perry Amazing Race and the Uxbridge Tennis club will be hosting the Uxbridge / Port Perry inter club tennis tournament.
On Saturday, September 20th, the Tennis club will participate in the Ontario Culture Days in Port Perry, in Palmer Park.
The Tennis Club will hold the Annual Frost Bite Tournament on Saturday, September 27th.
