SCUGOG: There’s a new reason to relax in Scugog. Northern Leisure, a proudly Canadian company, specializing in hot tubs and saunas, has officially opened its doors in Port Perry. The new showroom, built with care, character, and a lot of elbow grease, is the result of, local entrepreneur, Blair Kelly’s hands-on vision: to bring high-quality, wellness products right into the heart of cottage country.

Blair’s journey into the hot tub and sauna world wasn’t your average business story. A longtime rental cottage owner, he found himself constantly fixing aging hot tubs, until one finally gave out. That led him on a search for a better product, and eventually to a manufacturer, offering well-built, energy-efficient tubs, designed for northern climates.

“They were looking for a dealer in this area,” Blair explains. “I already had experience fixing hot tubs, so it just made sense. I bought one for myself, loved it, and it snowballed from there.”

Last year was Northern Leisure’s first full season and they sold 30 hot tubs. This year, Blair’s aiming for over 100.

More Than Just a Showroom

Northern Leisure sells both plug-and-play hot tubs which connect to any standard outlet, with no electrical permits needed, and larger, hardwired models, for customers who want full jet-and-heat functionality at once. All models are made for Canada, fully insulated, and built to withstand harsh winters.

Blair emphasizes, these aren’t your average spa-store tubs. “We like to compare them to Yeti coolers. The tubs are all spray-foamed, sealed up tight, one guy lost power for four days, and his tub only dropped seven degrees. That’s how well they're built.”

Northern Leisure also sells barrel-style saunas which can be either wood-fired or electric, depending on the setup. “If someone’s got a cottage without enough power, we can just go with a wood stove. It’s beautiful, you light the fire, and you're good to go.”

Turnkey Service – No Stress Required

What really sets Northern Leisure apart is their all-inclusive approach. Blair doesn’t just drop off the hot tub and leave, he stays, installs it, fills it, starts the heat, and gives the homeowner a full tutorial on how to use and maintain it.

“We call it VIP delivery,” says Blair. “We provide the bromine, test strips, floating distributor, everything. When we leave, the tub’s ready to go, and the customer doesn’t have to go buy a thing.”

Need help with decks, concrete pads, or electrical setup? Blair’s got a trusted team of subcontractors he can arrange, and it’s all included in one clean, upfront invoice.

“We don’t play the ‘entry-level price’ game either,” Blair says. “If it says $12,000 on our website, that’s what it is. Add tax and maybe delivery. No gimmicks.”

You can browse full product catalogs, and see real, transparent pricing, by going to www.northernleisureproducts.com, or by visiting the showroom in person.

Also available in-store are folding composite Muskoka chairs, designed for comfort and convenience, easier to store than traditional versions.

Customers are welcome to bring questions and even their backyard measurements. “We’ll help you pick the right model, and we’ll make it easy,” Blair says. “That’s our goal, simple, straightforward service.”
