Mandatory water restrictions for Uxbridge residents and businesses are now in effect

UXBRIDGE: The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents and businesses in Uxbridge of mandatory water restrictions. Residents and businesses are required to discontinue all non-essential indoor and outdoor water use during this time, effective immediately, until further notice. The reason for the water restrictions is due to the mechanical breakdown of a high capacity well. Water use restrictions are necessary to maintain adequate water levels to deal with emergencies, including fire protection during this time. Examples of non-essential water use includes cleaning driveways or decks, washing cars and lawn watering. The Region regrets any inconvenience this may cause and thanks customers for their co-operation.
