The Port Perry Lumberjacks came away from the weekend with some mixed results: a win and a loss.

The Lumberjacks opened their weekend with a game in Apsley against the North Kawartha Knights on Saturday, January 20th.

Six and a half minutes into the first period, Aaron Dawson scored the Lumberjacks' first goal, giving them a 1-0 lead. Less than seven minutes later, Cameron Marshall put the puck in the net, extending the lead to 2-0.

Eight minutes into the second period, the Knights scored a power-play goal, cutting the lead in half. But Marshall scored his second goal late in the period, making it a 3-1 game.

The Lumberjacks would outshoot the Knights 14 to 5 in the third period and held on to win the game 3-1.

However, the Lumberjacks were blown out the next day, Sunday, January 21st, in a game against the Clarington Eagles, the leading team in the Orr division.

Nearly nine minutes into the first period, the Eagles scored a power-play goal, and the Lumberjacks trailed the game 1-0. It took until past the halfway mark of the period for the Lumberjacks to get their first shot on goal after the Eagles got the first 11 shots. With a little over four minutes remaining on the clock, the Eagles put another shot past goaltender Vann Kulba, making it a 2-0 game.

Just 35 seconds into the second period, the Eagles onslaught continued with another goal and a 3-0 deficit. Thirty-one seconds later, Jacob Sharpe got the Lumberjacks on the board with a goal. But over four and a half minutes later, Clarington struck again, making it a 4-1 game. Clarington would add a shorthanded goal and a power play goal late in the period, extending the deficit to 6-1.

Less than seven minutes into the third period, Parker Lemay put the puck in the net, bringing the score to 6-2. But the Eagles would score later in the period and held on to defeat the Lumberjacks 7-2.
