Local communities seeing spike in case numbers

NORTH DURHAM/KAWARTHA: COVID-19 case numbers are rising steadily in North Durham and the Kawartha Lakes.
As of press time, according to the Durham Regional Health Department, Scugog has 39 active cases, including 36 people in home isolation and three people in a hospital. To date, Scugog has had 16 deaths and 207 resolved cases.
Uxbridge has 40 active cases, all listed in home isolation. Since the start of the pandemic, Uxbridge has had 24 deaths and 262 resolved cases.
Brock Township has 23 active cases, 22 of which are listed in home isolation and one person is in a hospital. Brock has had 68 resolved cases and no deaths.
Meanwhile, the Haliburton, Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health unit is reporting Kawartha Lakes has 35 unresolved cases, 556 resolved cases and 55 deaths.
