Lindsay Muskies vs Whitby Fury Sunday Afternoon
CRAIG SCHROTER Special to The Standard
KAWARTHA LAKES: Bryce Caruk picked up his second goal in as many games against his former team, and Troy Andrews netted his first as a Lindsay Muskie but it was not enough as the Fury edged the Fish by a score of 3 to 2 Sunday afternoon in Whitby. Oliver Webster made his Lindsay Muskies debut in goal, stopping 40 shots in total. The Muskies got off to just the start they wanted when Caruk, who came over from Whitby in a trade earlier this season scored, from Mathieu Hebert and Curtis Trolley just 29 seconds in. Riley Girard would even the score for the Fury at 14:40, then Ethan Doyle put Whitby up by one on a power play at 16:14. In the second period there was only one goal scored. It was the eventual game winner, and it went to former Lindsay Muskie and Omemee native Patrick Goan. The goal came at 18:36. There would be only one goal again in the third. It was a late goal scored by newly acquired Troy Andrews. The goal was Andrews first as a Muskie. He came over from Mississauga, at the trade deadline earlier this month. The next action for the Muskies is Monday night when they travel to Cobourg.
