Lindsey's Comic-Con and GCW Wrestling will take place on Saturday, November 8th, from 10 am to 3 pm at Victoria Park Armory, 210 Kent Street West, Lindsay. It's a full day of geek culture, including comics, collectibles, cosplay, and the GCW Wrestling event. Admission is $5. Children 12 and under are free. Vendors will offer a wide variety of items, including comic books, new and vintage toys, jewelry, DVDs, and other geek-related merchandise. There will be booths with artists and authors present, offering unique and autographed items. Some vendors will be buying unwanted comic books, toys, and video games. You can bring non-perishable food items for the local Community Food Bank, and that enters you into a prize raffle.


Trinity St Andrews United Church in Cannington is having its annual cookie sale! Pre-order your Christmas cookies and fundraise for our local food banks! You will need to order your cookies by 6 pm on Friday, November 29th. To order your cookies, contact Margaret Shearer at 905-904-0215. The cookies are only $8 per dozen, which is a great deal! Cash or e-transfer accepted, pick up your cookies at the church at 50 Laidlaw Street. North Cannington of cookies for gingerbread, score triangles, haystacks, lemon butter, Peanut Butter Cup cookies, Classic shortbread, chocolate thumbprints, almond cherry snowballs, and peppermint holiday cookies. A nourish and develop donation table will also be available for non-perishable food and personal care items to drop off. If you wish to bake cookies for this bake sale, it has to be dropped off by December 5th.
