Letter to the Editor: 1st Port Perry Scouts

Dear Editor,

1st Port Perry Scouts will be holding their annual scrap metal/bottle fundraiser to support the up keep of the Scout Hall, on Saturday April 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We were unable to hold it last year due to Covid, we hope people kept their scrap metal, old appliances and bottles for us, and are now able to drop them off this year at the scout hall. We won’t be doing pickups this year, but we will empty your car, trunk or trailer when you arrive for drop off.

We will be following all the Covid safety precautions and rules.

The success of our fundraiser is vital this year, as we will be replacing the roof at the scout hall.

Scouts Canada has not allowed us to meet indoors since Covid restrictions were first put in place, in March 2020. We have still carried on with socially distancing outdoor scouting, while following all Covid protocols, and meeting on zoom. Keeping our youth and leaders safe and engaged.

We thank the community for their continued support.
