Letter to the Editor

Good day to all members,

To respect the solemnity of the passing, of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II, and out of respect for her lifetime of service, including her military service during the Second World War, Port Perry Legion, along with all branches across Canada, will be cancelling upcoming events, during the 10 day period of mourning.

The Executive of Port Perry Legion are currently working on planning an official ceremony, to celebrate the Queen’s life on Monday September 19th. More details to come.

The following events are CANCELLED:

Monday: Bid Euchre at 2pm

Tuesday: Euchre at 2pm and Shuffleboard at 7pm

Wednesday: Shuffleboard at 2pm and Fun Darts at 7:30 pm

Thursday: Cribbage at 2pm & Progressive Euchre at 7pm

Saturday: Bingo at 1pm & Spin to Win your Dinner at 2:30 pm

The legion will remain open daily from 2-6 pm. Monday – Saturday.

Fri., Sept. 16: Mac & Cheese with Ham dinner (starting at 4pm), and live music with Augi G (6-9pm) will continue as scheduled. Eat in or take out 4 pm.

Sunday, Sept. 18: Family Day will continue as we kick off our Legion Week Celebrations.

Mon., Sept. 19, as the period of mourning ends with the state funeral for Her Majesty, all Legion events are cancelled. Stand by for details of Remembrance / Celebration ceremony.
