SCUGOG: Motorists travelling along Regional Road 57 in the Township of Scugog should expect lane restrictions throughout much of the summer as the Regional Municipality of Durham undertakes road rehabilitation work.
The project is scheduled to begin during the week of July 6th and continue until August 31st, although the timeline may be affected by unfavourable weather conditions.
Lane restrictions will be in effect on two sections of Regional Road 57: from approximately 100 metres northeast of Scugog Point Road to one kilometre east of St. Christopher's Beach Road, and from 300 metres east of View Lake Road to the Durham/Kawartha boundary line.
The work is part of the Region's ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and improve the roadway.
Regional officials acknowledge the construction may cause temporary disruptions for residents, businesses and travellers, and every effort will be made to complete the project as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, obey all traffic control measures and use extra caution while travelling through the construction zone to help protect pedestrians, cyclists and road crews.
