KAWARTHA LAKES: The O'Canada concert, which the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes Foundation (BGC Kawarthas Foundation) put on at the Flato Academy Theatre on Sunday, May 25th, was a huge success.
It was a night of notable talent and a large, passionate audience for a first-time event. This concert was put on in the face of international tensions, like the current trade war.
The BGC Kawarthas Foundation felt like it was an important time for Canadians to feel prideful about our identities, so they gathered a bunch of local stars. The format of the concert was every musician or band would when it was their turn, sing a song they composed and a famous Canadian song; then, it would be the next one's turn.
The event's host, Erica Ehm, who introduced and talked to the performers, made a huge difference for the show.
