Kawartha Lakes police investigating a fatal collision

KAWARTHA LAKES: The Kawartha Lakes Police Service (KLPS) is investigating a fatal accident which occurred just outside of Lindsay.

According to the KLPS, on Thursday, May 16th, at about 5:40 p.m., officers were called to investigate a single vehicle collision which occurred on Cheese Factory Road, between Post Road and Settlers Road.

“Police, fire and EMS responded to the scene. The driver of the motor vehicle, a 19-year-old male, from Lindsay, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision,” a KLPS press release stated. “Cheese Factory Road was closed, between Post Road and Settlers Road, while officers, from Kawartha Lakes Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police collision reconstruction unit, measured and documented the scene.”

The name of the deceased has not been released and the cause of the collision is still under investigation. Anyone who has further information on this collision, including possible dash cam video, is asked to contact police, at 705-324-5252.
