Winter fun is coming to Kawartha Lakes! The inaugural Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival takes place Sunday, February 1st, at Eganridge Golf Course, starting at 10 a.m. This inclusive, family-friendly event invites people of all ages and abilities to enjoy outdoor activity, fresh air, and community spirit.
The morning features endurance runs on snow-covered trails, while the afternoon, 1:30 to 4 p.m., is packed with family fun activities. Highlights include snowmobile rides, tobogganing, snowman building, maple syrup tasting, a bonfire, and live music. The Fleming Logger Sports Team will also provide an exciting live demonstration for all ages.
Participation is free, with a $5 donation suggested for family activities. All proceeds support the Boys and Girls Club of Kawartha Lakes (BGC Kawarthas), which has been helping local children reach their potential since the 1960s. Their motto, “Opportunity Changes Everything,” reflects the positive impact they continue to make in the community.
The festival is a proud member of the Fenelon Falls Chamber of Commerce and relies on volunteers for roles including signage, registration, course setup, and awards. Volunteers receive training, a t-shirt, lunch, and a special prize for standout contributions.
Register for activities or volunteer at Race Roster (raceroster.com).
The Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival is more than winter fun, it’s a celebration of community, wellness, and family. Mark your calendar, bundle up, and join the start of a new local tradition.
