SCUGOG: A famous landmark business in Port Perry has recently received a new name and new ownership.

Formerly known as ‘The Pub,’ the business has now been branded as ‘The Lakeview Pub,’ by owner Angie Poucher who has taken over the Water Street business in January. The ownership change follows the retirement of the business’ former owner.

“It’s a great spot. It’s right across from the lake. Obviously, it’s historic, it’s been around for years. We definitely saw a lot of opportunity here and did some renovating, and we’ve got that patio going in in a couple of months,” Ms. Poucher told The Standard.

She also discussed what people can expect at ‘The Lakeview Pub.’

“We’re very family oriented and we like to make everybody feel at home. We have a great menu,” she said. “We have a nice variety in our food and our staff is amazing. They’re all very sweet and fantastic.”

Ms. Poucher noted, since the business opened, “everyone has been lovely” and customers have “enjoyed the new look and have been loving the food.”

“We’re just going for a nice casual, comfortable vibe,” she added.

The Lakeview Pub is located at 136 Water Street, across from Palmer Park.
