Health is the greatest gift of all

I first want to thank those who read my article diligently. The greatest gift I have is experience. I’m so glad to share it with you for another year. Seeing as this is my last article of the year, I’d like to speak from the heart.

I believe health is a gift. It allows you the freedom to spend time with family. It allows you to travel to new places and pursue your passion. This year has put into perspective why our health is truly the greatest gift of all. When you are well, those around you will reap the benefits. Taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle has a ripple effect for those around you.

Becoming healthier requires diligence and effort. If you start small, it makes a big difference. I encourage you to look at your diet. Food is fuel. If you’re not fueling your body properly, then you’ll lack energy. Especially this time of year with all those sugary treats, be aware, it all adds up. Find ways to be active every day! This may mean taking a walk when the weather is conducive. Go out and shovel the driveway, but take your time. Do what you can handle and gradually do more. Start small and work your way up.

As someone who works with clients over sixty, I see the struggles of ill health. Lacking strength and balance is not an inevitable part of aging. It is merely a by-product of inactivity. The good news is, you can change it. Don’t wait until the new year to start a resolution.

Health and wellness is a lifetime resolution. Every small change means more energy for you and those you love. I encourage you to treat yourself with kindness.

Merry Christmas to all!
