Fenelon Falls Senior Citizens’ Club Is Most Grateful for Local Community Support

MARGARET CUNNINGHAM, Fundraising Liaison

KAWARTHA LAKES: The Fenelon Falls Senior Citizens’ Club is most grateful for the local community support in response to the ‘Coming Together for All’ fundraising program currently underway. While celebrating their 50th Anniversary, the FFSC club hopes to raise funds to support the Club, with three 50/50 Draws now complete, a 50th Anniversary Grand Raffle draws on June 22nd and a Community Sponsor Appeal which will continue.

The Grand Raffle is building momentum to ensure the 4500 tickets get into the hands of supporters across Kawartha Lakes. Raffle tickets are available through the Club, its Board, local retail supporters and volunteer members. Join us in buying or selling raffle tickets to win $3,000 cash, $1,500 in Sobey’s gift certificates, $600 in theatre and dinner vouchers, $600 for a planted tree and a KATVA annual family pass. The Grand Raffle draw will take place on June 22nd at the upcoming 50th Anniversary Celebration. Please contact the Club by phone at 705-887-7007 or check in on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/FenelonFallsSeniorCitizensClub

The final 50/50 Draw was held on May 10th at 4:30 p.m. Santosh Patel of Rockwood Forest Nurseries, a new corporate sponsor, was on hand to draw the winning ballot. The Fenelon Falls Senior Citizens’ Club is thrilled to announce Shannon Gillies as the winner of $695 in the last 50/50 Draw, drawn at the centre.

Fundraising in support of 58 Murray Street continues. The community partner appeal has attracted a significant response from both individuals and corporate sponsors. It’s a good start. However, there is more to be done. Over the last 50 years, the club executive and its membership have sustained and managed their club facilities, offering a venue adaptable to various events and activities for both members and the local community. Prior to the pandemic, the centre at 58 Murray Street was sustained with a steady schedule of hall rentals, weekly activities and events for the young at heart, and membership fees. The annual tribute shows have also generated a considerable level of local sponsorship over the years.

Inquiries on how to assist are welcomed and encouraged. Please call 705-887-7007, visit www.fenelonseniors.com or check us out on Facebook for further information on the venue and the club membership and activities.
