Durham riding to have an early March by-election

NORTH DURHAM: A date has been set for a federal by-election, to replace Durham MP Erin O’Toole following his resignation.

Voters, in the Durham riding, will go to the polls on Monday, March 4th. The date of the election was announced by Elections Canada, on Sunday, January 28th.

There will be advance polling days: on Friday, February 23rd; Saturday, February 24th; Sunday, February 25th; and Monday, February 26th.

Currently, candidates in the by-election include: Robert Rock for the Liberal Party, Jamil Jivani for the Conservative Party, Chris Borgia for the NDP and Patricia Conlin for the People’s Party of Canada.

Erin O’Toole started representing the Durham riding in 2012. He announced, in March, his plans to resign following the end of the spring session of 2023.
