SCUGOG: Cupcake Junkie offers customers in Port Perry a wide array of tasty treat options.
“We have cupcakes, cookies, butter tarts, sugar cookies, cake pops, ready to go cakes. We do have quite the selection, even though we’re only here a couple of days a week,” owner Jessica Kula-Trinier told The Standard.
The business started in Whitby, with a small location, and then the Port Perry location opened about two years ago.
“There’s been a lot of blood, sweat and tears put into this investment,” Ms. Kula-Trinier explained. “It’s been slowly growing. We switched our Whitby location to here in Port Perry, and then we opened another one in Brooklin. Now we have three functioning locations, so it’s busy but it’s fun.”
The other business location is in Markham. Currently the Port Perry business is open on Fridays and Saturdays, with plans to add Thursdays next month, and to operate from Wednesday to Saturday in the summer.
“People are welcome to order online for pickup any day. We have a driver who goes between locations every day, so we can accommodate Port Perry orders, any day of the week, even if we’re not open.”
When people order from Cupcake Junkie, Ms. Kula-Trinier said, people can expect “good quality stuff,” guaranteed nut free items, items made with “real butter and good quality ingredients.”
“I know there’s quite a few bakeries which offer different styles of things, around here, so I think we fit in nicely with our selection,” she added.
