SCUGOG: Scugog Fire and Emergency Services is once again asking the community to help them support Operation Scugog this holiday season by filling the fire truck with new and unwrapped gifts and toys. The fourth annual ‘Fill the Fire Truck’ toy drive has begun, with donations welcomed daily between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Port Perry Fire Station, located at 30 Crandell Street. “The last three years we have been very successful,” Scugog Fire Chief Mark Berney said, adding over that time they’ve averaged two to three truckloads of toys per year. He also talked about the importance of this annual initiative. “It’s important for us, as it’s giving back to the community,” Chief Berney explained. “The generosity of the community has always been unbelievable.” The public is asked to have their donations in by Wednesday, December 11th. For more information, phone fire administration at 905-985-2384, or email fire@scugog.ca.
