Coming back to the gym after covid

I’m seeing lots of people coming back to the gym after being off over the pandemic. I applaud their effort to get back to the gym. Everyone interested should remember, you’re not going to be in the same shape. So, let’s start from where you are now! Here are a few helpful hints to get back into your gym routine:

  1. Cut everything in half: This relates to the amount of weight you lift and the time spent on cardio equipment. I’d even suggest doing only one set of ten on a select few pieces of equipment.

  2. Keep it short and sweet: I’d suggest coming back to the gym in small doses. Keep your time 30-45 minutes three times a week. It helps to gradually work in your workouts.

  3. Invest in personal training: It’s been a while since people have been active, and they just don’t know where to start. Invest in training, and this will help you focus on your specific needs. This is a safe way of getting started in the gym.

  4. Be realistic: The biggest mistake people make is thinking they can start where they left off. Give yourself some time! Realistically, it may take a few months to get back to where you were.

  5. You are what you eat: Getting your eating in order is significant. If you want to get more active, then you need the right fuel. Make small changes towards better quality food. It’s important to understand, you’ve got to start from where you are right now. It’s going to take some patience and time to get active again. Don’t fret. With consistency and effort, you will regain your strength. Here’s to you getting back to the gym!
