Celebrate Canada Day across North Durham with festivities in Port Perry, Uxbridge, and Cannington

PORT PERRY: Residents of Port Perry, Ontario, Canada are invited to take part in a full slate of Canada Day festivities this year, with events taking place throughout Historic Downtown Port Perry and at the Scugog Shores Museum Village. The celebration features a packed schedule of entertainment, family activities, food, and fireworks.

Festivities begin early in the morning with the Canada Day Parade at 10:30 a.m. The parade, featuring “Vettes-for-Vets,” will showcase new and antique cars, local bands, and community groups. It will begin on Queen Street, travel through Historic Downtown Port Perry, and conclude on Water Street before continuing into Palmer Park.

At 11 a.m., official Canada Day opening ceremonies will take place, including the singing of the national anthem by Bella Guidotti. Guests will also enjoy the serving of a Canada Day cupcake cake provided by Vos’ Independent.

From 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., families can enjoy the Kids’ Zone, hosted by Scugog Recreation and the Scugog Shores Museum. Activities include inflatables, a giant colouring mural, games, and a variety of interactive attractions designed for children of all ages.

Also running from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. is a Fire Safety Booth provided by the Township of Scugog Fire Department, offering educational displays and safety information for residents.

At 12:30 p.m., a free hot dog barbecue, sponsored by Maple Leaf Foods, will be served in the park, followed by the start of live performances on stage beginning at the same time, bringing continuous entertainment throughout the afternoon.

At 2 p.m., attendees can enjoy a free slice of pizza in the park provided by Domino’s Pizza Port Perry.

From 2 to 10 p.m., a licensed beverage area (19+) presented by Old Flame Brewing Company will be open for adults attending the event.

The day’s celebrations will conclude at 10 p.m. with a fireworks display over Lake Scugog, presented by Supernova Fireworks, lighting up the night sky in a grand finale to Port Perry’s Canada Day festivities.

Organizers encourage residents and visitors to take part in the full day of programming across both downtown Port Perry and the museum grounds, celebrating Canada Day with community spirit, entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

UXBRIDGE: Residents of Uxbridge are invited to take part in this year’s Canada Day celebrations as the Township hosts its annual event at Elgin Park, offering a full evening of family-friendly fun and community spirit.

Festivities will take place on July 1st, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and free admission for all attendees. Organizers say the event is designed with families in mind, featuring a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for residents of all ages.

Throughout the evening, visitors can enjoy a variety of fun, family-friendly activities along with refreshments available on-site. The celebration provides an opportunity for the community to come together and mark Canada’s national holiday in a local park setting.

The highlight of the evening will be a fireworks display at dusk, lighting up the sky over Elgin Park and bringing the celebrations to a festive close.

Township officials encourage residents to arrive early, take part in the activities, and enjoy one of Uxbridge’s most popular annual summer events.

CANNINGTON: Residents of Cannington are invited to take part in a full day of Canada Day festivities at McLeod Park, running from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 1st.

The Canada Day Festival will transform McLeod Park into a community gathering space filled with celebration, music, and activities throughout the day and into the evening. Families and visitors are encouraged to spend the day enjoying the park and taking part in the holiday atmosphere.

Running for 12 hours, the event offers a full-day opportunity for residents to come together and celebrate Canada’s national holiday in the heart of the community.
