Cases dropping as province<br>lifts health measures

NORTH DURHAM/KAWARTHA: As the Ontario government continues to lift public health measures, local communities are seeing decreasing numbers of COVID-19 cases. According to the Durham Region Health Department, Uxbridge has 13 active cases as of press time. To date, Uxbridge has had 28 deaths and 1,134 resolved cases. Scugog has nine active cases. Since the start of the pandemic, Scugog has had 18 deaths and 1,019 resolved cases. Brock Township has three active cases. To date, Brock has had four deaths and 585 resolved cases. Meanwhile, according to the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit, Kawartha Lakes has 32 active cases. Since the start of 2022, Kawartha Lakes has had 1,858 cases reported and 17 deaths. The health unit recently changed their data format to split 2022 results from past pandemic years.
