BROCK: A smooth leadership transition appears to be underway in Brock Township, with veteran municipal leader Fernando Lamanna set to take on the role of Acting Chief Administrative Officer and Clerk.
Mr. Lamanna will step into the position, effective Saturday, April 11st, following the departure of outgoing CAO Michelle Willson.
With more than two decades of municipal experience, Mr. Lamanna is expected to provide steady leadership during a period of transition. He will serve as Acting CAO through 2026, as Council prepares to recruit a permanent candidate, following the autumn municipal election.
Mayor Mike Jubb expressed confidence in the appointment, noting Mr. Lamanna’s extensive background in municipal governance.
“Council is pleased to appoint Fernando Lamanna as Acting CAO and Clerk, during this important transition period,” said Mayor Jubb. “His depth of experience and understanding of municipal operations will ensure continuity for staff, Council and the residents of Brock.”
Mayor Jubb added, the interim appointment will allow the municipality to take a measured approach in its search for a permanent CAO.
“By having an experienced leader in place, we can focus on a thorough and thoughtful recruitment process, following the municipal election,” he said. “We are confident Fernando will provide strong leadership and stability in the months ahead.”
Council is expected to begin the recruitment process for a permanent CAO later this year.
