Brock declares Sunderland Stingerz Day to celebrate provincial championship

BROCK: In a thrilling display of skill and teamwork, the Sunderland Stingerz recently secured the provincial Under-14 ringette championship, marking a historic moment for the Township of Brock.

Mayor Walter Schummer, on behalf of Council and the Township, extended heartfelt congratulations to the team for their remarkable achievement, at council’s meeting, on Monday, April 29th.

The victory has ignited a wave of pride throughout Brock, as residents celebrate the Stingerz's triumph which also included a parade in Sunderland. Mayor Schummer emphasized the significance of this win, highlighting the dedication and talent of the players who brought glory to Brock Township.

Acknowledging the collective effort behind the team's success, Mayor Schummer extended gratitude to the coaches, parents, sponsors, supporters, and all those involved in nurturing and supporting the Stingerz throughout their journey. Their unwavering commitment played a pivotal role in shaping the team's journey to victory.

In honour of their outstanding accomplishment, Monday, April 29th, 2024, was officially proclaimed as Sunderland Stingerz Day, a testament to the team's enduring legacy within the community. The proclamation serves as a symbol of appreciation, for the Stingerz's hard work and dedication, inspiring future generations of athletes in Brock Township, and beyond.
