Bobcaygeon man charged with impaired driving

KAWARTHA LAKES: A Bobcaygeon man has been charged with impaired driving, after a vehicle was located in a ditch.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), on Sunday, May 12th, at “approximately 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle in a ditch on Pinery Road, in Somerville Township. Police quickly conducted an impaired driving investigation.

49 year old, Leon Warren is facing charges of 'operating a vehicle while impaired' with blood alcohol concentration over 80 and having a novice driver blood alcohol level over zero. The vehicle was towed after the incident.

In addition, the OPP have a safety message for residents, following this incident.

“If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan which takes impaired driving out of the picture.”
