Families in Lindsay have several free, ongoing activities to enjoy during the week of June 11th. There will be a story walk at Ken Reid Conservation Area, located at Ken Reid Conservation Area on the pond Loop near the main parking lot. Enjoy a healthy, active outdoor experience. Families can walk the trail while reading pages of a featured children's book, Over in the Forest by Marianne Berkes.
Lindsay's Farmers Market will be Saturday, June 13th, from 7 am to 1 pm at Victoria Park, Victoria Avenue. It’s a great way to get the kids out to see local agriculture featuring local vendors, baked goods, and often special performances or live music right downtown.
Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate a major milestone this June as Bobcaygeon marks the 150th anniversary of its incorporation.
Organized by the Bobcaygeon 150 Committee, the community-wide celebration will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Bobcaygeon was officially incorporated on June 17, 1876, and the sesquicentennial festivities will honour the village's rich history and vibrant community spirit.
Activities will run throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., coinciding with the annual Welcome Back Summer event. The town will come alive with family-friendly entertainment, local food, community activities, and opportunities to explore local businesses and attractions.
A special Bobcaygeon 150th Anniversary presentation will be held at the Bobcaygeon Branch Library from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., offering a look back at the people and events that helped shape the community over the past century and a half.
Also taking place on June 13 is the Kawartha Yarn & Fibre Festival, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will bring together makers, artisans, and fibre enthusiasts for a day of creativity, collaboration, and inspiration.
The celebrations begin earlier in the week with The Dockside Sessions at Gordon Yacht Harbour Marina on Thursday, June 11, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The anniversary festivities will conclude with the Cyber Zone Throwback Video Dance Party at the Bobcaygeon Curling Club on June 13 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., featuring favourite hits from the 1980s and 1990s.
The anniversary celebration promises to be a memorable occasion as Bobcaygeon reflects on 150 years of history while looking ahead to the future.
