Blackstock news

by Janet van Camp

Sympathy is extended to Peter and Elizabeth (Kelly) Peeters, on the passing of their daughter, Kathryn. Kathryn was diagnosed at a young age with paediatric brain tumours and was legally blind, yet she was a very creative and artistic individual. Many from this area attended either the visitation or funeral last week in Fenelon Falls.

Oops, in last week’s paper, I mistakenly said the Perennial Plant and Boot Sale was on Saturday, May 4th. In fact, it is this Saturday, May 11th in the Blackstock United Church Parking Lot, beginning at 8 a.m. A BBQ lunch will be available. Small bouquets of flowers will also be available for purchase. These would make a thoughtful gift for someone special in your life or for someone on their own for Mother’s Day. Please check out the available plants and other treasures you might find. If you have donations of plants, please drop off on Friday, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m or 2 to 4 p.m., at the Church.

There has been good attendance at the Coffee drop-ins held every other Wednesday, at the Church. The next one will be May 22nd and all are welcome to attend.
