SCUGOG: Scugog Recreational Community Centre will once again transform into a treasure trove of history, on Saturday, October 18th and Sunday, October 19th, as it hosts the 27th Annual Antique & Nostalgia Show.
For nearly thirty years, this semi-annual event has brought together collectors, decorators, history buffs, and curious shoppers from across Ontario. What began as a small gathering has become a seasonal highlight, drawing both long-time enthusiasts and a growing number of younger visitors, who are discovering the beauty and individuality antiques bring to modern homes.
Attendees can expect an eclectic mix from more than 25 reputable dealers. Offerings range from farmhouse staples and mid-century gems to vintage jewelry, postcards, military memorabilia, wooden folk art, china, glassware, and oil-and-gas collectibles. Every booth promises something different, whether you’re looking for a rare find, a quirky conversation piece, or simply browsing for inspiration.
Unlike factory made décor, antiques carry a sense of story and craftsmanship which resonates with today’s shoppers who value authenticity, sustainability, and character. The show has become not just a marketplace, but a destination where each discovery feels personal.
The Antique & Nostalgia Show also plays a vital role in the community. As the largest annual fundraiser for the Lake Scugog Historical Society (LSHS), the event helps support local heritage through education, preservation efforts, and historical research. By attending, visitors are directly contributing to keeping the stories of the Scugog area alive for future generations.
Whether you’re a dedicated collector or simply curious, this event offers an opportunity to connect with history, in a hands-on way. Come ready to explore, as you never know what piece of the past you might take home.
Scugog Community Centre is located at 1655 Reach Street, in Port Perry. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., both days. Admission is $5 and covers both days. This event is fully accessible.
