2023 Summer Camps at the Uxbridge Library

UXBRIDGE: With summer just around the corner, the Uxbridge Public Library opened its summer camp registration, on March 27th.

Each camp runs from Monday to Friday, starting at 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The cost for each participant is $200 for each one-week camp. The camps are open for children in Grades 1 to Grade 4, as of September 2023.

According to the library manager, Corrinne Morrison, the Library is hiring a post-secondary school student to help out with summer programs.

This student will be planning all camp activities and be included among the usual library staff until the end of August 2023.

The camp dates are as follows: July 3rd to July 7th - The Lego Camp, July 17th to July 21st - The Games Camp, July 31st to August 4th – The STEM Camp, August 14th to August 18th - The Mystery Camp

“[The] Lego Camp is popular every year!,” said Ms. Morrison. “[It involves] lots of building with Lego, challenges with Lego, excreta.” According to her, in past years, participants have built their own Lego people using clay.

“The specific details for this year will be up to the imagination of our Summer Program Coordinator,” she explained.

Library staff are planning only four summer camps because they also have other activities at the Library planned for the summer.

“Our camps are very well run, and the children and parents have always been very pleased with them,” said Ms. Morrison. “We have access to great resources, such as books and STEM materials, which make for a fun yet intellectually stimulating week for the kids.”
