UXBRIDGE: On the heels of its most successful prayer breakfast yet, the Uxbridge Prayer Breakfast is growing, to include surrounding North Durham areas, for 2026. Heading into its 15th year, the 2026 edition will officially become the North Durham Prayer Breakfast, uniting Uxbridge, Scugog and Brock townships.
This annual event draws a large crowd of elected officials, first responders, educators, entertainment/media, clergy and local business leaders, as the community comes together to pray over each sector. In addition to scripture readings and prayer, guests are treated to a musical performance and a keynote speaker, to inspire, regarding the power of prayer in our local setting. This event is open to all community members.
The North Durham Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for May 20th, 2026, at Mill Run Golf Club, in Uxbridge, and features keynote speaker Dr. Steve Russell. In 2016, Dr. Russell became the first chair of the Board of Oak Ridges Hospice, a palliative care facility located in Port Perry which opened its doors in 2021. At the club, he will share the moving story of how this much-needed hospice came to be and will highlight the importance of palliative care in North Durham.
Pastors and churches in the North Durham area are invited to contact Rob Croxall, at rjcroxall@yahoo.ca, to be included in correspondence and preparations for the 2026 edition of the event.
