BROCK: Construction is coming to Brock over the next three years, as Durham Region plans to reconstruct Regional Road 13, between Hwy. 12 and Lake Ridge Rd.

Since the 2022 election, Regional Councillor, Mike Jubb has been a vocal advocate for these repairs to the Roadwhich is a major through way for thousands of vehicles on a daily basis.

Recently, Councillor Jubb shared an update on the project. According to plans from the Region, construction will begin in 2024, with phase one involving the portion of the road, from 0.7 km east of Lake Ridge Rd., to 0.7 km west of Sideroad 17.

In 2025, project plans call for the stretch of road, up to 1.5 km east of Sideroad 17, to be rebuilt. Finally, in 2026, it's expected the project will wrap up with reconstruction past the entrance to the CBM gravel pit.

A report from the Region notes, “the project is being completed in phases, due to the full closures of Regional Road 13 required to complete the reconstruction of the road.”
