Santa Claus Parade returns to Uxbridge on November 18th

DARRYL KNIGHT The Standard

UXBRIDGE: With just about a month until the big day, preparations are well underway for the 62nd annual edition of the Uxbridge Santa Claus Parade to provide an unofficial kick-off to the holiday season on Saturday, November 18th.

As in past years, the parade will begin at 11 a.m. with the familiar route running from Centre Road, across from Uxbridge Arena down Brock Sreet, before wrapping up near Uxbridge Secondary School on Nelkydd Lane.

Since 1961, the Parade has delighted thousands of attendees every year on the third Saturday in November, and many local merchants will have their shops decorated for the occasion so you can cross off some of your Christmas shopping the same day as the parade, as well as grabbing a drink and holiday treat at any of the great downtown establishments along the route.

Visitors can also get in the holiday spirit by donating spare change to the Fire Department’s Boot Drive, non-perishable food items for the Loaves and Fishes Food Bank, or letters to Santa bound for the North Pole.

If you would like to be involved in the parade, either as a volunteer or as part of the festivities, please visit www.uxbridge.ca/parade for all of the details.
