SCUGOG: Engines will rumble to life and chrome will gleam under the early summer sun, as thousands are expected to gather along Water and Queen Street in Port Perry, for the 13th annual Roar by the Shores classic car show, a tradition which continues to draw enthusiasts from across Durham Region and beyond.

Scheduled to run Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the waterfront event will transform the town’s historic downtown into a rolling museum of automotive history. Rows of meticulously restored classics, muscle cars, hot rods, and custom builds will line the streets, offering a nostalgic journey, through decades of design and engineering, including a special appearance by The Durham Mustang Club.

Families will stroll between vehicles, many stopping to chat with proud owners, who will eagerly share stories of painstaking restorations and cross-country road trips.

Organized as a community fundraiser, Roar by the Shores will once again support the Port Perry Hospital Foundation. In addition, proceeds will also benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Durham Region, Operation Scugog and Jump Start of Port Perry. Spectators are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations, to help support the local food bank, as part of the event’s charitable mission. Bring a food donation and receive a draw ticket to win a BBQ, donated by FireAway, of Port Perry.

Participation is expected to remain strong in 2026, with pre-registered vehicles set to arrive early, to line the streets of Water and Queen Street. Organizers anticipate a wide variety of entries, from pre-war antiques to modern performance cars, reflecting the show’s inclusive approach and appeal to all types of automotive enthusiasts.

Beyond the cars, the event is expected to provide a boost to local businesses, with restaurants and shops likely to see increased foot traffic throughout the day. The scenic backdrop of Lake Scugog will add to the appeal, reinforcing Port Perry’s reputation as a destination for summer events.

Now in its 13th year, Roar by the Shores is expected to continue growing, blending small-town charm with large-scale enthusiasm. Rain or shine, organizers say the goal will remain the same: bring the community together, celebrate automotive culture, and give back.

Attention all participants, Roar by the Shore will have a special participants draw, with nine great prizes to be won, as well as our top 12 plaque awards and our top prize trophy, Best Over All Award. Spread the news, we are aiming for 600 classics to fill the streets of downtown Port Perry.

When comparing gaming clubs in Canada, I usually focus on the factors that have the biggest impact on the overall experience. A strong venue should offer a solid mix of slot machines and table games, maintain comfortable playing areas, and provide clear organization throughout the property. Customer service is another important aspect, especially during peak hours when efficiency matters most. Casino Maple Ridge is often mentioned by players evaluating different Canadian gaming destinations because it combines gaming options with convenient amenities. Looking at these practical features rather than relying solely on reputation can help make a more informed decision.

Drive Mad has that old-school browser game feeling where each stage becomes more addictive than the last. Some jumps look impossible until you finally figure out the perfect speed.
