SCUGOG: Last Saturday, the Port Perry Tennis Club held its Year-End Banquet at the Port Perry Curling Club. The members were served a delicious roast beef dinner by the Curling club caterer.

After dinner, Colin Hooper, Club Tennis Pro, recapped the 2025 Club Champions and presented the 2025 Singles Ladder Championship award to Mark Orchard.

Following the award presentation, the banquet committee organized some games, which the members gladly participated in. Allan Wakefield won the “Shake Your Booty” game, Ross Dube won the Musical Spots game, and Paul Kaus’s team won the Put the Carrot in the Bottle game. Needless to say, the games generated an abundance of laughter, and as a result, Tarrin Wang won the prize for generating the most laughs.

After the games, there was a draw for some door prizes, with the Grand prize being a free 2026 PPTC Tennis Membership. Fittingly, the winner of the free 2026 Membership was George Bright. George has been a member for 57 years, ever since the inception of the Club in 1969. Congratulations George.

Special thanks to the banquet committee of Amanda Pawley, Cathy Kaus, and Cydele Fadeeva for organizing the 2025 Year-End banquet. A good time was had by all. See you on the courts in 2026.
