KAWARTHA LAKES: The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service (KLPS) was busy on Thursday, August 26th dismantling a local marijuana grow operation.

According to police, “two license holders were reportedly growing plants, which exceeded the legal limit of their Cannabis for Medical Purpose–Personal Use License,” at a location on Mount Hope Street in Lindsay.

“At the time police became involved, the registered licenses had expired, and the holders had been evicted from the location. The total allowed number of plants under the licenses was 780 plants. Officers, with the assistance of City crews and equipment, removed approximately 10,000 plants from the location,” a KLPS press release explained.

As of press time, KLPS stated, they had not laid any charges as of yet.
