Newmarket man dead after vehicle collides with a tree in Scugog

SCUGOG: A 55-year-old Newmarket resident has died after his vehicle struck a tree in Scugog Township.
According to Durham Regional Police, the collision occurred “on Scugog Line 12, east of Marsh Hill Road” on Friday, June 17th.
“At approximately 7:50 p.m., officers from the North Division were called to a serious single motor vehicle collision on Scugog Line 12 east of Marsh Hill Road. A 2007 black Honda sedan was travelling eastbound when it left the roadway on the north side, partially rolling over, striking a large tree,” a Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) press release read.
But DRPS stated while “first responders arrived within minutes,” the driver “succumbed to his injuries at the collision scene.”
