Free Topping Pizza returns to Port Perry

DAN CEARNS, The Standard

SCUGOG: The Free Topping Pizza Port Perry store has new ownership and a new location, right near the waterfront.

Free Topping Pizza is now located at 126 Water Street, the location which used to house Jim’s Pizzeria. “We’re very accessible. We’re in a prime location, right in front of the lake. It doesn’t get better than this, really,” owner Royston Appu told The Standard. “It’s just a better location for us in general.”

Port Perry’s Free Topping Pizza was previously located in a plaza at 14500 Simcoe Street.

When it comes to what he enjoys most about running this business, Mr. Appu, who has been nicknamed ‘Jabroni’ by his friends, said, he likes “meeting the customers, meeting new people and meeting the neighbourhood.”

The Port Perry location held a soft opening event earlier this month. “We had a great turnout; it was fantastic. A lot of people came in. They were happy to have us back,” the owner said.

Mr. Appu described the business as a ‘neighbourhood pizzeria.’ He added, one of the things which separate the business from other pizza stores or restaurants is their use of Galbani cheese. “It’s more of a rich, flavourful cheese,” he explained.

The owner talked about what people can expect from this business.

“They should expect a very delicious pizza, made to their choosing.”

Free Topping Pizza Port Perry is currently offering a grand opening special of ‘buy one pizza and get the second pizza of equal or lesser value 50 percent off’. They also have a Managers’ Special offer of ’10 chicken wings for $8′. For more information on Free Topping Pizza, go online, to freetoppingpizza.ca.
