EPSOM & UTICA by Faye Ashton

We have been so blessed with perfect autumn weather, but we are back to reality with Sunday's snow. Children love it, skiers and snowboarders love it, but I'm sure all those driving to work in the dark and snow don't share the same feeling. You're in our thoughts as the snow months begin. The food bank box remains at Epsom United Church's steps if you can contribute.

The Canadian food grains bank acres of corn were harvested this week, but with little rain during its growing season, the harvest wasn't as plentiful. Join the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Manitoba organizers, for breakfast at Scrambles, Reach Street, Uxbridge, on Friday, November 18th at 8 a.m.

It's been a busy time for our area agricultural people who were showing animals, working, or transporting horses to and from the Royal Winter Fair.

Celebrate with the congregation of Epsom-Utica United Church at Epsom on Sunday, November 20th, for their 146th church anniversary at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Edith Ann as Minister. EdithAnn has so many memories of her time with us during 1981/86. November 27th is the first Sunday of Advent. A potluck lunch will follow the service at Epsom.

Stay safe and well, as covid and flu abound. Please send your news items to Faye.eaglesnest@gmail.com.
