DURHAM: Durham’s MPP Todd McCarthy has been given a promotion by Ontario Premier Doug Ford.

In a cabinet shuffle announced on Friday, September 22nd, MPP McCarthy was given the role of Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery.

“It is an honour and a privilege to work for the people of Ontario in my new role as the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery. This is a responsibility I do not take lightly. I want to thank Premier Ford for his trust and confidence, and it is with great excitement and humility that I take on a portfolio that affects every Ontarian across our great province. I will ensure we continue to build better, more people-centered Ontario public services and improve the way our government serves not only my constituents but every Ontarian, by providing easier access to services, faster delivery, enhancing our cyber security practices and strengthening consumer protection for the people and businesses. I am eager to hit the ground running and develop solutions that will get it done and build a better Ontario,” MPP McCarthy said, in an emailed statement.

This will be the second position MPP McCarthy has held in Premier Ford’s cabinet in the last month. On Monday, September 4th, Durham’s MPP was appointed as Associate Minister of Transportation.

Some of the other changes to provincial cabinet positions includes David Piccini becoming Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, Andrea Khanjin becoming Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and Vijay Thanigasalam becoming Associate Minister of Transportation.
