Congratulations to Mason Street residents! The long-requested speed limit drop from 40 km to 30 km has been approved by Township of Scugog. This news comes on the heels of a councillors agreeing at a September 14th committee meeting to change Mason Street to a one-way road. Essentially, this has created a one-way loop off of Old Scugog Road that now takes motorists to Cartwright Central Public School before reconnecting with Old Scugog Road. Alexander Street, where the elementary school is located, is already a one-way avenue. The next steps include delivery and installation of signage. I’m sure many residents, especially those with children, who walk to school, are please to see these changes implemented.
