Another week of beautiful weather has been enjoyed by many. The bean crops are being harvested, corn crops cut, and another cut of hay taken by some farmers. Flowers continue to bloom, and leaves starting to fall as they change colour. Enjoy fall!
The Talent Auction fundraiser for Greenbank United Church was well attended and quite successful. Treasurer Wilma Smith, at church on Sunday morning, extended a huge vote of thanks to all who donated, to all the bidders and buyers, to auctioneer Carl Phoenix, and to Kim Thomson who coordinated the auction.
Thanks also go to other communities' support too.
Sunday's service included the lovely choral anthem, “Sing a New Song” by Young. In the Mission Minute with Pauline Reed, she spoke of Canadian churches which receive Mission and Service support financially, e.g. Northern Arms Pastoral Charge, Newfoundland, a four point charge with one worship service each week at 3 p.m. at one of the four churches. Any left over funds at year end are returned to M&S to pay it forward, and help other churches in need.
Rev. Parker's message “Allegiance to Jesus” reminds people to live their lives following Christ's example of faith and love.
Next Sunday, October 29th, at 10 a.m., Greenbank Church will celebrate its 121st Anniversary with Rev. Richard Parker, guest speaker Gordon Taylor, and music by our choir and group “Add Water and Stir”. Please join in worship and celebration and linger following service for lunch provided by Greenbank U.C.W.'s.
Sunday, November 5th, at 11 a.m. Service for Remembrance Day will have local teens Sarah Dulong and Sarah Shepperdson speak of their trip to Vimy Ridge.
Saturday, November 11th, at 7:30 p.m. the Gospel men's group FREEDOM BOUND will bring a concert in Remembrance at Greenbank United Church. Admission by donation of $10 suggested.
On Sunday, November 12th, at 7:30 p.m., at St. Paul's Anglican in Uxbridge is a Remembrance Memorial Concert featuring Orpheus Symphonietta performing Tchaikovsky's Symphony number five. Ticket prices are $15, at the door or Star Ticketing.
November 1st, Seagrave's annual turkey supper, only advanced tickets are available. To get tickets, call 905-435-5473, or 905-985-2489, or 905-985-3595, or 905-985-7778. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $5 for children ages five to twelve.

'Get well' wishes go to Deb Ward, who is at home recuperating, from a hip surgery she had last week.
Sorry to hear Rodd Foster and Chase Newlove, and others who are unknown to me, are having health issues. Please remember them in your prayers.
