Saturday's sunshine gave way to rain and clouds on Sunday and Monday as 'holidayers' travelled to cottages and other venues. Farmers are being challenged with wet weather delaying planting.
The lovely flowers in church on Sunday were in memory of Don (Donald) Foster, whose funeral service and celebration of his life by many, was May 19th, 2017.
Barb Ward and Keith Bacon greeted those in church on Sunday. We welcomed guest speaker Mark Sturman. Mark grew up in Seagrave, attended Greenbank P.S. and Port Perry High, so he shared some memories along with his message that reminds us that we are all God's family, the inclusiveness of families, and God walks with us always. Hilary Balmer offered the Music Ministry singing “My Lord What a Morning”. On Sunday, May 28th After service, there will be a Congregational Meeting for the joint change at Greenbank U.C., light refreshments will be served.
It is with sadness I share that Dot Hooker died at home on Saturday, May 20th. Sincere sympathy goes out to Roy, Dana, Melissa, and all of Dot's family.
A service celebrating, and remembering, Dot will be held at Greenbank United Church, at 11 a.m., Saturday, on May 27th, 2017, with visitation one hour prior to service. There will also be visitation at Low and Low Funeral Home, Port Perry, on Friday, May 26th, from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
Belated sympathy to Hugh Baird and family, with the death of Hugh's sister Mona Mustard who passed away on May 13th, with funeral at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Leaksdale, on Thursday, May 18th, 2017.
Congratulations to Ron (Doc) Thomson and Anne Easson who were married on Saturday, May 20th, 2017, at their Conc. 12 farm, with reception following at Greenbank Centennial Hall.
