Many thanks to CCPS who received us so well at their Harvest Festival last week. We came with our barbecues and food and the tents were already set up for us. Our biggest challenge was to add some weight to the feet of the tents, because the wind was so strong. Many thanks to Lion Brian Moore, who came all the way from Minden to give us a hand. This activity was in recognition of our Governor’s Service Week. Thanks to Angela and her team from the School Community Council, for all that they do to support the students and staff of Cartwright Central Public School.
At our meeting this past week, were pleased to welcome our new pharmacist in town, Farzad ‘Francis’ Valadkhani, who shared his experience and values with us. We look forward to working with him soon.
Also attending our meeting was Lion Larry Doble, from the Greenbank Lions Club who gave us some background on available grants and how to proceed with a project. Thank you, Lion Larry, and expect a call from us when we have all the details in place.
Congratulations to the nine Lioness Clubs in our district, as they celebrate 35 years of service, in their respective communities this year.
Our Lions Clubs Camp Kirk will be doing their annual fall close-up, this coming weekend. Several Lions will show up with tools to help maintain the camp and they always enjoy a bowl of soup and sandwiches when they finish. Thanks for all your efforts.
