Blackstock & District Lions Club
As you know from last week’s column, Tuesday, November 14th is Worldwide Diabetes Awareness Day. Diabetes is a disease shared by young and old, rich and poor. Over 360 million people have diabetes. By 2030, the International Diabetes Federation estimates that over 550 million people worldwide will have diabetes. And as diabetes is one of the pillars of Lionism, our Lions have chosen to recognize this day in the Blackstock. Francis Valadkhani of Wellnessshield, the pharmacy in town, has graciously agreed to partner with our Lions to provide free blood sugar testing at the pharmacy. Come by the pharmacy at 14020 Old Scugog Road on Tuesday, anytime between noon and 6:00 p.m. for your blood sugar check.
