Shirley Turner returned from Dominican Republic where she attended the destination wedding of her grandson Ken Minshell, son of Lorrie and Ron Minshell, and his bride Danielle. Her other daughter Jan Byers also attended the happy event.
The Fair Board May meeting will be held on this Wesnesday at 7:30 p.m., at the meeting room at the Rec. Centre. All members are urged to attend.
On Friday evening a large crowd attended the annual church auction, with Carl Phoenix as auctioneer assisted by Harvey Graham. The fun event was very successful as a fundraiser, as over $16,000 was raised.
Several from here attended the 70th birthday party honouring Doug Fallis’ birthday, which was held at Nestleton Hall, on Sunday afternoon. Happy birthday Doug.
Both Jessie Gunter and Shirley Gibson have returned home after spending some time of recuperation with their daughters: Jessie with Kathy in Haliburton, and Shirley with Nicole in Kentore. Continued improvement in health is wished for the both of you.
The winners at the Tuesday evening card party were Heidi Krieg, Keith VanCamp, Lorna Edgerton, Hazel Coates and Val Priebe, with Harold Crawford low. Peter Booth had the most lone hands. The specials were won by Mary Lou Breward, Donna Traynor, Joe Goldsmith and Don Trunks. These card parties are held each Tuesday night at the United Church C.E. Room, with all welcome to enjoy an evening of euchre. They begin at 7:30 p.m. sharp.
